💡 What Is the Jobs of Tomorrow Day – Drop Down Day All About?

AI • Emerging Industries • Transferable Skills • Labour Market Insights

Careers are evolving faster than ever. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming traditional job roles, while new industries and technologies are reshaping what the future workforce will look like. Up-to-date Labour Market Information (LMI) shows that the skills students need today may look very different tomorrow. This can feel challenging — but it’s also an exciting opportunity for young people to discover how their unique strengths, values and interests connect to the future world of work.

During this engaging, full-day career education event, students will:

Explore career industries using real-world LMI to understand job trends and growth areas.
Discover future skills such as problem solving, adaptability and digital literacy — skills employers value across industries.
Discuss how AI is reshaping the job market and how to stay relevant in an ever-changing world of work.
Play interactive career games to match skills with jobs and build confidence in career exploration.
Design and play a career-themed board game to test knowledge in a fun, collaborative way.

By the end of the day, students will know how to use LMI and AI insights to make informed career choices, adapt to change, and imagine their own “future headline” in the world of work.

This thought-provoking day encourages students to explore the value of difference in a meaningful and engaging way. Throughout the sessions, students will:

🎲 Take part in a hands-on simulation that reveals hidden biases and challenges stereotypes
⚖️ Learn about the nine Protected Characteristics and the UK laws that protect against discrimination
🧭 Reflect on personal identity through guided activities and discussion
🎨 Collaborate on a whole-school mural project, visually celebrating the unique contributions of every individual
🤝 Recognise shared experiences and values that connect us all, regardless of background

Duration:

🏫 Morning Assembly: 10 minutes
🧠 Core Sessions: Approx. 5 hours of activities and guided learning

Running a LᴉfeFluent day couldn’t be easier. Each session is led using our detailed presentation slides, Teacher Guidance Booklets, and step-by-step LᴉfeFluent Instruction Videos.
