A fun and interactive Powerpoint resource taking students on a contextualised journey that challenges them to apply their knowledge and skills to the work of various professionals in dealing with the scenario.
The resource has four levels focusing on dealing with different stages of the scenario. The resource also includes introductory information as well as opening and closing discussion prompts.
The learning outcomes for this resource include:
- understand the important work that goes on in different professions to deal with the scenario
- develops an understanding of the range of jobs that are available within the sectors in focus
- connects learning to life and demonstrates the real world application of core curriculum topics
- develops key skills including teamworking, communication and problem solving through interactive challenges
The activity is designed to be a complete lesson lasting 45-60 minutes and the content is primarily written for students in Key Stage 3 but could easily be used or adapted for Key Stage 4 too. The challenges can be completed by students either independently or working in teams.
The resource is fully editable in Powerpoint format so you can tailor the challenges to the specific needs of your pupils.
