Learning Disabilities PSHE (Life Skills & Wellbeing) Lesson Pack.
If you have students with disabilities in your class, talk to them about the lesson. Maybe they will want to speak about their disability or maybe not. Maybe they will want to be out of the room. Let them choose – n.b. Many autistic people see autism as a neurotype – an identity – and would not consider themselves to be disabled by autism BUT would consider themselves discriminated against, by the way the world is set up and organized.
Learning Outcomes:
- To have a base knowledge of learning disabilities
- To understand how important the right language is
- To know basic etiquette with disabled people
